Poached Plaice with Oyster pudding, fennel, samphire & wood sorrel. Only that morning me and Chap had been commenting we’d never tried an oyster!
They asked more than once before the meal if there was any ingredient I didn’t like, but as I wanted the full experience I said nothing. Here I must confess, I hate fennel. Therefore I struggled with this. However, the suet pastry on the oyster pudding was perfection, the plaice was beautifully soft and yeilding and was great fun to try samphire. Unfortunately, because I was avoiding the fennel somewhat, the overall effect was a bit too fishy for me. Technically perfect though.
